Live trees contain more moisture, so to prevent jamming, the saw teeth are jagged and the bevels are slightly wider compared to saws for ordinary wood.

This product is a “Pull Saw.” As opposed to the European "push saw" that uses push strokes to cut materials, the Japanese "pull saw" uses pull strokes. As such, the blade is thinner, more efficient, and the resulting edge is cleaner.
